OKC Longboard Crew got together for our third race of our downhill series. We split up the racing onto two hills since we couldn’t decide which was more fun. The majority of the heats took place on Hill1 that had a sharp right hander. It turned out to be a crash corner, if you didn’t take the perfect line, you would pay by getting passed or loosing your edge. With the series being over we can’t wait for the next.
Thanks again to all the sponsors, including: FLIPD Boardshop, BC Longboards, Sector 9, Core Extreme, LAX Boards & Atobe Wheels.
As the Oklahoma City downhill scene grows, OKC Longboard Crew wrapped up our final race of our first series on Saturday. We knew before hand that it was going to be a very wet race, so a few of us came prepared with freshly made rain wheels. It turned out to be some of the most fun & intense racing we have had. Finishing up with 7 man heats through the neighborhood run, Jason finished out on top…again. Kyle came in 2nd, Josh in 3rd, and Mac in 4th Biatch.
Thanks again to Jason for putting all the races together, as well as our sponsors throughout the series: FLIPD Boardshop, Sector 9, BC Longboards, Core Extreme Sports. We can’t wait for the next series!
A group of 14 local Oklahoma riders got together on Saturday to compete in the first OKC Downhill Race. We set up cones to create some chicanes throughout the course. Local BC rider, Jason, got some schwag from Sector 9 & other local shops. Thank to everyone who came out; we can’t wait for the next race.
It was awesome being in California for a week & a half, but it was definitely good to be home. I got in a good session this weekend with local OKC riders Mac Merritt & Neil Wieland at one of my favorite spots.
Mac & I set out with a couple of other Okies to ride some OKC downtown spots. We realized the other day that we had yet to film much downtown for some reason. Take notice of our 6 awesome skyscrapers. Started with some flat ground spots then hit a downhill run with a crazy steep parking garage at 15% or so grade. Hope you guys enjoy.
Thanks for staying tuned for Episode 2 of LABOR DAY SK8 DAY. After Bear Run Mac & I headed to one of our favorite neighborhoods for some downhill fun. Its not super fast but is always a good time. We then finished up the day at a new freeride spot that has a sweet little drop that you can hit from both sides. Definitely a great day of riding. Can’t wait for the next session. Hope you guys enjoy.
